    I2C PCB1.4 EMF/EMI shielding

There is a lot IMF/EMI going on inside the case which can affect the PCB1.4 I2C bus as well as the IMU's compass etc. Has anyone tried to isolate the PCB 1.4 or the motors and akku with EMF Blocking fabric or something like this...

Thunder / Lightning protection for perimeterwire

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally found a lightning protection for my perimeter wire. I live in an area where we have very bad thunders couple of times a year and last year one such fried completely one PCB1.3 and the perimeter sender by surge coming in from the perimeter...

PCB 1.4 English assembly videos as I go, translations welcome

I did video series on PCB 1.3 and now making one for PCB 1.4 . Have so far soldered enough for 3 videos and planning to complete the whole board in next weeks or days. All translations, for any languages would be appreciated! I will add them to the videos...

Large electrolytic capacitors on PCB 1.4

I again fail to see why the big capacitors have been rotated 90 degrees on the new PCB 1.4. First of all you can't even solder them without shaping the legs on Z-like shape because there is no room for them. They can also not be secured to the PCB when standing the new way. I hope the capacitor...

PCB 1.4 too tall for PCB1.3 replacement

Another question or confirmation as I did not find anything about this in the manuals. Has the case for mower with PCB1.4 gotten taller or am I just supposed to clip off the upper and lower part of the PCB1.4 to fit it in place of PCB1.3? I think there is some sort of carving on the board to cut...

PCB 1.4 no INA169, how will PCB 1.4 handle 4A charging

Sorry if these all have been documented somewhere, but also wondering about how will the PCB 1.4 handle 4A charging? The INA169 had a bridge I could solder on and it was able to handle up to 5A charging. Batteries have max 4A charging allowed so I have been using a 4A charger on my mowers. Will...

    E1, EF1, EF2 fuses soldered on PCB1.4, explain please?

Just soldering and making videos of putting PCB1.4 together. I was shocked (to put it mildly) about the decision to solder the fuses on PCB1.4. Why make such a decision? E1 I can understand, hard to blow, but EF1 and EF2? Have blown so many of those during the years. Was so easy to change by...

Boost perimeter signal by two perimeter senders?

I couldn't find anything about this with a quick look and most is in German anyways. I have a very long perimeter, pretty much the max recommended. The perimeter signal gets very low, like 40 in some parts of the yard. The single perimeter sender is already at it's max. Can I place 2 perimeter...

Thunder hit, any way to salvage? 1.3 -> 1.4 upgrade?

I think this is a bit stupid to even ask, but hey why not give it go. Even with all the damage in the bottom middle area, the mower functioned for many hours as is until it bricked the Arduino Due. <Edit> Oh lol, actually I forgot my other question from the first post. Anyone know if this...

Ardumower thinks she is in the station when she's not (charge voltage fault)

I had a bad lightning storm which completely blew up my perimeter sender. I got it fixed, but now my mower thinks it is in the station while it really is not. When I check the battery values from the arduremote it says "Charge 16.53V 0.00A". So the ardumower thinks he is already in the station...

GPS value freeze when wheel motor is on

I have had the GPS working for 2 years already, but recently my other robot's GPS values freeze when the wheel motors are in use. It's standard starterkit from ardumower shop with PCB 1.3. The mower motor can be on or off, the GPS is working great. But if I turn the wheel motors on the GPS is...

    Battery vs motor voltages

I'm wondering about the battery and Ardumower motor specifications. My battery can run from about 29V to 17V. However the motors can only run at 24V or above. Why is the motors and/or battery specs so that I can't even run the battery to midway empty? At 24V the battery could run for 7V...

    Adding blinking leds to mover

So I bought a bunch of bright leds for bicycle and am looking to putting them to my Ardumower to see where it is after sunset. I got rid of their own batteries and soldered always on bridge when power connected. They take in 3V and work just great with the 3.3V from the ardumower board. But I...

Ardumower videos with Youtube captions, interested in translating?

I have been making videos of my Ardumower build. And I just learned how to use the Youtube captions. If anyone have any interest to translate the captions to your native language, that would be great! I have attached here the english captions for the 9th video "Ardumower Part 9, Case E2 - Back...

How to find a break in the perimeter wire

I have chosen the method 1. I actually have 4 amplifiers in series and when testing my working perimeter I can hear the signal loud and clear. WARNING: If u set all the 4 amplifiers to max settings, u will blow your ears and your earphones off just from the sound of slight wind or whatever...

Is there something in PCB1.3 stopping from 4A charging?

I have 10,4Ah batterypack in my mower. It is rated for 4A charging. The original gives 1,3Amps, so I bought a charger with excatly the same specs as the original which came with the full ardumower kit, except it can give 4.0Amps. However I seem to get only 0,4Amps out of it at 28V. And can't...

English videos, part 1 for review

As I have said earlier I took just about everything on video when I was making my robot. This may really take some time, but the first 4Gb resulted in the video as below. It is clear that I'm not working in studio grade environment nor am I an expert videoeditor, but I hope this will help...

    Undervoltage protection

I was reading last night the schematics, wikis, etc and there seems to be C12 Undervoltage protection 22uF / 63V, some TSS0230LU diodes d12-d15 and JP8 for always on / automatic, and actually bunch of other components. And you can set "off" with pin 4 which goes tho JP8/automatic. I have JP8...

Chips with MMC5883MA - You have been warned.

Be warned of GY-801 chips with MMC5883MA compass. If the chip has an die in the middle that says 5883 702p, you should return it immediately. Unless for some unspeakable reason you ordered one with MMC5883MA on purpose. First the good news. I got the compass actually working, hard iron & soft...

Improvements for the possible next chasis design

All the other threads are in German and I have no idea what they are about, so I hope posting here is ok. 1. The one and by far the biggest design issue is that the chasis is black and it is not breathing in anyway! The motors and electronics maybe able to cope with the heat, but just 60...
