Undocking not working consistently

I'm having mixed success starting to mow after adding a docking path. Sometimes it will back up completely along the full length of the docking path, then start mowing. Most times it backs up enough to lose contact with the charging contacts, then starts trying to immediately turn. This forces it to bump against the dock until it triggers obstacle avoidance and sometimes frees itself from the dock. It seems like it just skips the undocking procedure and immediately tries to start the mowing task.

My setup:
  • 2021 Ardumower kit, pcb 1.4, Brushed motors, Long range ardusimple rtk base and rover kit, 16ah 7s5p battery
  • Sunray 1.0.298 (Tried both with and without the dock ignore gps setting)
  • Cassandra (I'm not sure if this issue is driven from firmware or the app)

I couldn't find anyone else talking about this specific issue. Anyone know what I could check?
