I have the idea to start an Ardumower project. Via this excellent forum and wiki I found out that a robot mower is a quite complex device.
Building the electronics is ot a task I'm afraid off, that will become fine.
Software.. that is endless, but there are already some good versions available.
The hardest point for me as a started is the mechanics.
What direction to go?

To be honnest, this look more a less in a work-in-progess device, that will never end. (well, that's only the impression it gives).
I also wonder if this wtill workrs after 1 year.. the moisture of the grass will enter easily... not so electronis-friendly
3D-printed chasis
This looks stunning.
2 motor setup looks very profesional
But I don't hav any resource nearby to print this and I'm a bit afrais of the cost/strength/durability
Use an older commecial robotmower
This looks as how a robotmower should look like.
Drawback is to figure out if the motors can be reused.
Need enough space for all the electronics to fit.
Personaly I this about reusing a proken robotmowerchasis, but don't know yet what type to look for.
Any sugestions what directions I should go?
