The Technical specifications for PCB 1.4 (and 1.3) indicate "Voltage range 12 to 29V"

However, it appears that 15V zener diodes D2 (undervoltage protection) and D7 (reverse polarity protection) will prevent a 12V system from working.

What changes need to be completed for a 12V system to work? Are there any drawbacks to using 12V besides increased current?
