Humidity sendor

Hello everybody.

I'm building an Ardumower, and for the moment it's raining a lot. So I'm wondering if we could put an humidity sensor like dht11 and if it's raining too much : no mowing. Is there an interest or should the mower mower in every conditions?

Thanks for reading.

Regards.

Hello,

same situation here and definitively a good idea - I will test both humidity sensor and rain sensor soon and the sensor that works best will be added :)

Keep in mind that in rain the lawn can grow very fast, mine grew almost 10cm in 5 days. Thats close to the limit of what the robot can handle.
So the robot should have a timeout, e.g. after 3 days it starts mowing, no matter of weather condition.

Currently my idea would be to use a lawn sensor not for perimeter but for wet lawn detection.

I've got one of these dht11 Sensors here. But I'm afraid its quite inaccurate
and it's not really possible to check if it's actually raining with this sensor.
I think what we need is a very simple moisture-sensor.

On an other occasion I tested a soil moisture-sensor . The soil-resistance was not
suitable for an exact soil moisture test, but something like this would
definitely be good enough for a rain-test.
