Hello dear Ardumower community .

I am building a heavy duty mower for my large backyard and I need help with harware and software.

Can you please explain if I can directly connect my drivers (Sabertooth 2x32A - https://www.mybotshop.de/Sabertooth-Dual-2x32A-6-30V-Motor-Driver) directly to the "rover" board of the LR kit?

I am looking for a detailed explanation about the setup and connections of the drivers and the rover boards.

If I need anything else to connect my drivers with this boards, please state them so I can start making purchases.

Let me answer the best I can.

I have several fields I need to mawn, and its roughly around 12 000 M2.

My build will be 4x4 mower with 3 blades for mowing.

I dont have problems yet with my build, but I have problems understanding what exactly I need to purchase.

I am planning to buy this set which should cover a Rover and base station. https://www.marotronics.de/simpleRTK2B-Starter-Kit-LR-IP67_1 or the alternative: https://www.cytron.io/p-30amp-7v-35v-smartdrive-dc-motor-driver-2-channels

My build:

Motors: 2 Wheel chair motors 24V, 100 RPM. Each side connected with 1 motor.
Battery: 12V 140-200 AH - Should be enough for 30 000 M2 by my calculations but this theory needs to be tested.

Question for rover:

1. Will this rover RTK board be connected directly with motors drivers: https://www.mybotshop.de/Sabertooth-Dual-2x32A-6-30V-Motor-Driver
and will this board directly steer the rover based on app instruction?
2. If it can't connect directly, what else do I need?
3. Is there any instructional where I can see where everything is connected?

Questions Base Station:

1. I will position it on top of my house, around 8 meters, and it should be enough to cover area of 5 km ?

Question for software:

What kind of software should I use as I will operate it on my mobile phone?

Not exactly, the mainboard of Ardumower is PCB 1.4. RTK Hardware motor drivers and and and are connected to the PCB. The digital level of PCB is 3.3V, some Pins are shifted to standard TTL 5V but not motor drivers inputs and outputs. Your selected driver works well with 3.3V, so that‘s no problem. I didn‘t check but your choosen drivers must have:
- PWM Input
- Input for Direction
- Odometry output
- Enable Input (not really necessary)
 
They say the LR System Base can reach 8km, but thats Not true. While I tested that, I couldnt get it to Work over 2km away. Line of sight was pretty much given..
 
I have similar idea and similar sized field. Currently using automated zero turn mower (John Deere Z545) for which I have attached RTK GPS and the autopilot. For the most part it works fine, but it is a huge, powerful (22ag), dangerous loud machine, that's better not to be left unattended. Hence I want to build an electric, lighter in weight mower. With the current John Deere weight is a bit of a challenge. When it makes tight turns, tires rip the lawn. Hence correct path planning is very important. I rather go in circles/spirals, instead of back and forward lines, this way it makes less turns.
