Hacking firmware on cheap mowers ?

Just ordered a cheap Daye lawnmover (They are an OEM manufacturer, used to sell as Mowox in the US), comes with bluetooth and upgradeable firmware (inside the Android App - 122KB .bin file).
What is the likelyhood of us being able to use such a cheap model to actually install our own code ? Seems better than many feature wise. Will mowe corridors of 120cm (60cm between wires, 30 cm from each side). When it has hit the wire 5 times, it will move out, and do some spirals to get to another location.

Looking at output of "strings" in firmware, I found interesting hints: " Compass not found.", " IP_PORT Order Len : %d"
And clearly made by foreigners: " BlueTeeth Init !"
