Bumper overrun and bad microswitch reaction

Hi,

I have one question to bumper and microswitch on it.
I made a bumper with overrun function ( microswitch is switched on, but bumper isn't on the end stop ) to decrease preasure on touched subject. Possible overrun is aprox. 2,5cm, but I found that it's still not enough and sometimes is bumper on the hard end stop. My question is, if there is any chance to increase ardumower reaction on the microswitch signal ( faster stop )?

EDIT:
Motor is GMPD from pillin and I don't want decrease speed of the mower. Is bumper switch checked via interupt ? What I calculated, mower will stop around 2,5cm when switch is switched. Speed af the mower is aroun 15m / minute. So it look, that switch is checked every 0,1sec. Right ?

Hi Alex,
if there would be additional sonar sensors the mower could recognize possible contacts and slow down. So in case of final contact stopping distance should be reduced significantly.

Hi,
this I will check, if additional sonar will be good enough to detect small subjects like tube from solar lamp.
