Battery drain on standby and dock

Apparently the PCB is supposed to use energy from the wall to power the mower when docked:

The PCB also limits energy coming from the battery when its shutdown.

The problem is that the ACT drivers that come with the ardumower kit plug directly to the battery and draw a constant 0.2 amps.
This means that if the mower shuts down it will continue to drain untill the battery BMS triggers, also when docked it will keep charging and discharging constantly.

Why does the wiki say to connect directly to the battery?
Is there a way to run the motor driver board through the PCB instead of directly from the battery?
Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Well, my best idea is to switch the power to the motor board with a N MOSFET controlled by the PCBs 9V rail, the motor drivers will still keep draining battery while docked but at least it will prevent the battery from dying if the PCB shuts off.

The other possibility is to connect the boards input to the same pins the old bruhless board draws power from, I just dont know if this is safe and I dont want to blow up my PCB...
